Terpene Profile

Terpenes are elements found in most fruits, herbs and other plants. Not only do they give them their characteristic smell, they also have an abundance of benefits, both medicinal and therapeutic.

There are hundreds of terpenes, but we’ll discuss the ones that are found abundantly in Abacus.

Limonene: This terpene gives Abacus its signature flowery, lavender smell. It is known for having qualities that aid in the absorption of other terpenes making them more potent. It also suppresses the growth of a number of fungi and bacteria and aids in weight loss.

Myrcene: Abacus also has an earthy musky undertone which belies the presence of myrcene. Myrecene has potent medicinal properties with antibiotic, analgesic anti-inflammatory and antimutagenic action.

Pinene:  Also aids in the management of pain, depression and anxiety. Pinene is also known for its action as a bronchodilator which opens up airways to allow more oxygen to reach the lungs.

Caryophyllene: This terpene is known for activating the endocannabinoid system as well as having anti-inflammatory effects.
